Our sweet sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, neighbor and friend, Wilma Jane Maxwell Elkins, 84, died Friday, February 27, 2004, in Bountiful, Davis County, Utah. Wilma was born April 19, 1919, Peoa, Summit County, Utah, the first daughter and second child of Irvin Leslie Maxwell and Ivy Marchant Maxwell. Wilma graduated from South High School, Salt Lake City, Utah. She married Richard Ira Elkins, May 23, 1941, and the marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple Wilma was active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving in many capacities including Relief Society President. She served with her husband as an Ordinance Worker in the Salt Lake Temple and supported her husband in his many Church positions. Wilma and Richard have been residents of Bountiful, Utah since 1958. She was a pink lady for many years at the LDS Hospital and was President of the Association there. After her great voluntary service she became Manager at the LDS Hospital gift shop for seven years. Wilma worked several years along side her husband to develop a printing business that later became a part of TransAmerica Corporation. Wilma is preceded in death by her parents, three brothers Morris Irvin Maxwell, George Lee Maxwell, and Keith Wallace Maxwell, triplet siblings, and one sister, Ella Mae Maxwell Holm. Wilma is survived by her husband, Richard Ira Elkins; one sister Ruby Lorraine Maxwell Pendelton Marqus Mark Fayette Pendelton of Ogden, Utah; one half-brother, Leslie Burt Maxwell Marian Irene Pearce of Alhambra, California; her children, Bryan Richard Elkins Melanie Limb of Calienta, Nevada, Sheryl Elkins, of Bountiful; Utah; Craig Roy Elkins Monica Victoria Dunn of Far West, Utah; Drew Maxwell Elkins Christina Christy Gudrun Brooks of Bountiful, Utah; 19 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at the Bountiful 41st Ward Chapel 33 South Moss Hill Drive,1500 East, Bountiful, Utah, Wednesday, March 3, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. Friends may call Tuesday evening from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. at Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 North Main and at the church on Wednesday from 9:45 – 10:45 a..m. prior to the services. The Elkins family wishes to thank the neighbors, Dr. David VanderMerewe, nurses, and hospice personnel for the loving, and tender care of Wilma during her illness.
