William Wayne Nielsen

William Wayne Nielsen, a long-time resident of Nibley, Utah, departed this life on October 19, 2023, at his home with his loving wife at his side, at the age of 52.

Wayne was born in Provo, Utah, on June 26, 1971, to William Craig and Aline Nielsen, the oldest of four. His family later moved to Clearfield, Utah, where Wayne received his Eagle Scout and graduated from Clearfield High School in 1989. After graduation, Wayne served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Riverside California mission. 

Wayne married Utonya Babinsky on November 11th, 1994, and later they were sealed in the Bountiful Utah Temple on November 11th, 1995.

Wayne was known for his unique sense of humor and his direct communication style. He was reliably there for his family and was always looking out for their needs. During his career as a mail carrier, Wayne got to know his community well.

In his spare time, he enjoyed riding 4-wheelers, camping and enjoying nature with family and friends, game nights and listening to classic rock music. For many years you’d find him watching football on Sundays, going on scenic drives, or enjoying his front porch view.

Wayne is survived by his wife, Utonya, his sons Tanner (Kadee) Nielsen and Tyler (Victoria) Nielsen, and his daughter Natosha (Joshua) Wright. He is also survived by his father, William Craig, his mother, Aline, his brother, Brent (Alisha) Nielsen, his grandson, Hendrix William Wright, as well as nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his son, Jamieson Wayne, sister, Michelle, brother, Terryl, and his fathers-in-law, Michael Babinsky and Roger Hare.

Wayne was deeply cherished and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, October 27, 2023, at the Nibley Utah Stake Center, located at 3701 South 450 West, Nibley, Utah, 84321. A viewing will precede the services from 10:00-11:15 a.m. at the church. Interment will take place at the Hyrum City Cemetery, next to his son.
