In Loving Memory of William Raymond Dame

William Raymond Dame passed away on February 1, 2026, just one week shy of his 91st birthday. He was born on February 8, 1935, in Cohoes, New York.

William loved the simple joys in life — fishing and watching the Chicago Cubs were among his favorites. He was known for his positive outlook and often reminded those around him, “Everyday is a good day”.

He served in the United States Navy (1957-1961), a chapter of his life that reflected his sense of duty and strength. He demonstrated incredible work ethic during his 42 years of working at General Electric. He retired as a supervisor in the nuclear turbine division. His many positive qualities left a lasting impression on all his loved ones, touching each of them in one way or another.

William shared 60 years of marriage with his beloved wife Joan (nee Halloran), who passed away seven years ago. Their life together was built on love, dedication, and family. They are reunited once again.

William was a devoted father and is survived by his three children: Kimberly (husband Donald Gaither), Timothy (forever friend Dianne) Dame and Gregory Dame . He is also survived by his grandchildren Andrea and Brent (Kimberly and Donald's children); (Jaclynn, Jordyn, and Alec (Timothy and Dianne’s children); and Danielle, Hannah, and Tommy (Gregory’s children) and great grandchildren Payton and Mason.

He lived a long life filled with memories, quiet passions, and deep love for his family. He will be deeply missed, always remembered, and forever loved. His family finds comfort in knowing this goodbye is not forever and in God’s promise of heaven and reunion.

Lord, hold our dad close. Thank you for the promise of heaven and that this goodbye is not forever. Give us peace until the day we meet again.
