Wendy Lee Dunaway, 70, was born in Inglewood California, raised and grew up in Riverside California. She passed away at Rocky Mountain Care in Clearfield Utah, leaving behind a family who loved her dearly and memories that will continue to bring smiles and laughter for years to come. She was a member of the Church Of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and had a testimony of Jesus Christ. Her favorite hymn was “I Know That My Redeemer Lives”.
Wendy was a funny, genuine, and giving woman whose love for her family was at the heart of who she was. She had a way of making life a little more entertaining, and she will be remembered for her big heart, her humor, and the unique little things that made her so wonderfully Wendy.
Wendy had a special love for her stuffed animals, Slurpee’s, and, of course, the telephone. If there was a conversation to be had, Wendy was likely happy to be part of it! These simple joys were part of her charm and the little details her loved ones will remember with a smile. After all, it’s often the everyday moments, the familiar habits, and the laughter shared along the way that become our most treasured memories.
Above all, Wendy loved her family. Her love was genuine, her giving nature was part of who she was, and the connections she shared with those closest to her meant so much. She leaves behind her beloved husband, Kevin Lee Dunaway; her children, Jeremy and Curtis Brewer; her sisters, Lesa, Jennifer, and Janet; and her five grandchildren, who will carry her memory forward; she was preceded in death by her mother Phyllis Lee Johnson and her dad Harold F. Berry.
Wendy’s life was filled with the things that made her happy, the people she loved, and the moments that made her one of a kind. She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and never forgotten.
Rest peacefully, Wendy. You were loved, you were one of a kind, and you will always hold a special place in the hearts of those who knew you.
The family would like to thank the staff that cared for Wendy at Sunflower Ridge Assisted Living and Rocky Mountain Care. We would also like to thank the doctor’s and team at Huntsman Cancer Center. We appreciate the kindness and support from Russon Mortuary during this time.
Memorial services will be held at a future date in Riverside California.
We leave you with an excerpt from the hymn she loved:
I know that my Redeemer lives. What comfort this sweet sentence gives!
He lives, he lives, who once was dead. He lives, my ever-living Head.
He lives to bless me with his love. He lives to plead for me above.
He lives my hungry soul to feed. He lives to bless in time of need.
He lives, my kind, wise heav’nly Friend. He lives and loves me to the end.
He lives, and while he lives, I’ll sing. He lives, my Prophet, Priest, and King.
He lives and grants me daily breath. He lives, and I shall conquer death.
He lives my mansion to prepare. He lives to bring me safely there.
