1927 Wallace 2024

Wallace Bud Rogers

November 2, 1927 — January 4, 2024

Wallace Bud Rogers, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather & great-great grandfather passed away peacefully at his home on January 4, 2024, at the age of 96.  His wife of 76 years and his children were by his side.

Wally was born on November 2, 1927, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Royal Enoch Rogers and Amy Ann Babcock.  He had five siblings: Clarence, Stella, Oren, Dale and Pauline.

Growing up in the depression years was very hard.  Wally only had an 8th grade education, but was one of the smartest men you'd ever meet.  At the age of 14 he got a job on a farm in Mt. Emmons, Utah.  With the wages he earned he bought a mustang…not the car, but a horse!

Wally joined the Navy Reserves at the age of 17 and worked as a baker in the bake shop.  He was in the Reserves for two years.

Wally married Elida Etheleen Crosby on October 15, 1947, in Mt. Emmons, Utah.
They were blessed with 5 children: Gary, Greg, Debbie, Brian & Scott.

He drove long-haul trucks for many years. He started Rogers Masonry and laid brick for years with his sons. Any job done by the Rogers was a job well done.

Wally was a talented wood worker and made beautiful wood creations.  His handmade pool cues are legendary! The jewelry boxes he made are a treasure for all who have one.

He could figure out any problem that came about in anything he did. He always came up with a solution. He instilled a great work ethic in each of his children.

Wally was an avid Jazz fan. He enjoyed watching the games on TV with Elida.  He also loved Western movies.

The family would like to thank the aides and nurses from Symbii health & hospice for their kind care of Wally during his last days.

Wally loved his family and loved having them gathered around.  As dad would say, "How Sweet It Is"

Wally is survived by his wife, Elida; His children; Gary (Beatrice) Rogers; Debbie (Gary) Felt; Brian (Gay) Rogers; Scott (DeAnne) Rogers and his daughter-in-law Cathy Rogers; 23 grandchildren; 65 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild with two more on the way.  He was preceded in death by his parents & siblings; his son Greg Rogers; granddaughter, Tara Rogers; Daughter-in-law Pam Rogers and great grandson Luke Felt.
