Vonda Webster, 97, passed away peacefully at Creekside Assisted Living on September 24, 2024. Vonda was born on July 11, 1927, in Preston, Idaho, to Asa Lot and Rachel Webster. She was the 2nd youngest of 9 children. She grew up in Glendale, Idaho, and attended school in Preston. She worked hard on the farm picking potatoes, sugar beets and tending to their many chickens. In the winter, her dad would often take her to school in a horse-drawn sleigh because the snow would get so deep.
Her parents taught her the gospel and her testimony led her to choose to serve a mission in her twenties. She served faithfully in the Eastern Canadian Mission and has remained a faithful and devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints all her life. Her testimony was sure that she had a Father in Heaven and a Savior who deeply loved her and heard her prayers.
She loved her brothers and sisters very much and has made many fond memories with them and their families.
Vonda has lived in Bountiful, Utah, for the past 50 plus years. She was an independent woman who worked hard all her life. She worked for and retired from AT&T in July of 1990.
Vonda was an avid BYU fan her entire life, closely monitoring the cougar football and basketball teams. Go Cougs! She was also a devoted Utah Jazz fan and was recently visited by the Jazz Bear. She made sure to tell Bear to take back the message to the team. “Win!” she told them.
At 91 she moved to Creekside Assisted Living where she was able to add to her life so many friendships and beautiful associations. She has truly enjoyed the many friendships she has made throughout her life and while living in this community.
She is survived by her brother, Carl Webster, and many nieces and nephews.
Many thanks to Creekside Assisted Living and Ovation Hospice for taking such good care of her and for making great memories for her in her last few weeks. Many thanks also to the Holbrook Branch and those that served her. She spoke often of the great men and women who were a part of the leadership.
