Veronica Eve Foster, our beautiful and adored mother, grandmother, wife, and friend, passed peacefully into the loving arms of her Heavenly Father on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at the age of 73, after a courageous battle with leukemia.
She was born on July 22, 1952, in Sacramento, California, to Joseph Hickman and Ethel Croff. She married her sweetheart, John Foster, in the Oakland Temple in 1971. Together, they raised seven beautiful children and built a wonderful life filled with joy, love and faith.
Veronica was a light and an inspiration, everyone’s cheerleader, and therapist. She was a devoted mother and a true friend to all who knew her, giving her the nickname of “Mama Foster.” To know her is to love her. She was always changing lives for the better. Her home was filled with a revolving door of friends and family always wanting to be with her. The loss of this amazing woman feels more than we can bear, but we find comfort in knowing we will be together again.
Veronica is survived by her husband, John; her children, Natalie, Nathan, Nicole, Adam, April, Aaron, and Ashlie; and her siblings, Diana, Greg, and Forrest. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Ethel, as well as her siblings, Gloria Jo and Richard.
A memorial service will be held to celebrate Veronica’s life on Saturday, August 30, at 11:00 a.m., with a viewing beforehand from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. (closed casket). Church Address: 625 Country Creek Drive, Layton, Utah 84041
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations toward the floral arrangements. Any donations can be made directly through Russon Mortuary.
Services will be streamed live on the Russon Mortuary Live Facebook page and on this obituary page. The live stream will begin 10-15 minutes prior to services and will be posted below.
