Trellis Dora Nicole Bentley

January 6, 1972 — October 21, 2022

Trellis was born in Modesto, California and was the youngest of five to Anson Blaine Bentley and Shirley Mae Bentley. They moved to Ogden, Utah in 1981 where she was baptized as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was sealed to her family in the temple in 1982. In 1990 she graduated from Ben Lomond High School where she was a Class Secretary her Junior year and a Student Body Publicity Manager her Senior year. Trellis lived life to the fullest and always brought joy to those around her. She loved to make people laugh and is loved by so many.

Trellis always had a dream to be a mom and had five children who are her entire world. She wore the title of stay-at-home mom and dog mom proudly. She supported every one of her children in all of their dreams they pursued and was the best soccer and dance mom out there. From hosting pool parties at her house to the best sleepovers, her home made everyone feel
welcome. She took her kids to Disneyland every year where the most amazing memories were created that we will cherish forever. Trellis loved sitting on the beach and made sure to include Newport Beach in her annual Disney trips. She felt so much peace there and was always her happiest in the sand.

Trellis was a devoted member to her church and is most known for being a fun Young Women’s leader with the best brownies. She hosted ‘Taco Tuesday’ for the Young Men and constantly kept her phone on in case anyone ever needed her. Her door was always open, no matter how much she may have been struggling. She loved fiercely and put everyone (especially her kids) before herself.

She is the definition of resilient, strong, and brave. After being diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015, Trellis only focused on the positive. She took every hurdle that was thrown her way and turned it into something positive. She fought, made jokes, and even laughed until the very end. She is truly the light of our lives and will be missed beyond words.

Trellis is preceded in death by her dad Anson, her mom Shirley, and her sister Lisa. She leaves behind her five children, Kenzie (Kyle) Hatch, Lauren Gibson, Gracey Gibson, Miles Gibson, Franky Ovalle, and her frenchie dog Minnie Hope. She also leaves behind her siblings Anson Bentley, Scott Bentley, and Vickie Blake as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, and friends. She left a mark on everyone she met. May her light keep shining and may we all be a little more like Trellis. May we love a little harder, forgive a little more, laugh a lot more, and live every day as if it was our last.
