Thomas Allison Fish

On his 81st birthday, Thomas Allison Fish, of Clearfield, Utah, returned home to his Heavenly Father. He was born on August 1, 1945, to Eugene and Mary Fish. His parents divorced when he was young and his mother married Francis Thompson, who became his stepfather when Tom was eight years old. Tom was born in Brigham City, Utah, but he spent most of his youth growing up in Ogden and Bountiful. He attended Bountiful High School. In his younger years he worked jobs such as groundskeeper at Five Points Mall in Bountiful, Utah, and he also worked occasionally as a dishwasher at restaurants. Due to mental health issues, he was unable to keep a long-term job. He was inducted into the military during the Vietnam War and went to basic training at Lackland Air Force Base in Texas, but he did not go overseas. He was released from service with an Honorable Discharge.

Tom was interested in the history of military planes and his father, Eugene, was an Air Force pilot. He enjoyed books about old planes and classic cars. He liked to reminisce about old cars, especially his '57 green Chevy with the fins. One of his hobbies was to build intricate models of cars and planes. Reading books was also one of his pastimes. He enjoyed watching the History Channel and classic TV programs. He liked old shows from the '60s and '70s. Sometimes he watched the local Davis County Channel for something more current. When he turned on his radio he liked to listen to classic rock. Other favorites of his were Levi's shirts and Milky Way candy bars.

Tom did the best he could with the hand he was dealt in life. He had a good heart. There was the time he gave away his coat. Another time he invited homeless people to stay in his apartment. He also brought home a stray dog, which, unfortunately, he couldn't keep, but his heart was in the right place. He was a good and kind man. He will be missed!

He is survived by his sister, Tina Simkins, brother-in-law, James Simkins, and five nieces and nephews: Clinton, Jenna, Marshall, Sarah and Daniel. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Thompson, his stepfather, Francis Thompson, and his father, Eugene Fish.

The family would like to express thanks and gratitude to his case worker and all those at Davis Behavioral Health who took care of Tom for decades. Also, special thanks to the staff at Rocky Mountain Care in Clearfield and Dignity Hospice for their dedicated care.

Visitation and a memorial program will be held on Thursday, August 13th, 2026, at Russon Mortuary, 295 North Main Street, Bountiful, Utah. Visitation will be from 11:00 to 11:30 a.m. A memorial program will be held at 11:30 a.m. Interment will be in the Bountiful City Cemetery.
