Theodore Read Thatcher was sent into the human world Sept 3, 1936. He was born to Reid Bethuel Thatcher and Sylvia Lola Read in Ogden, Utah. His human experience was a life full of many diverse interests. From years of being a scoutmaster, family camping and backpacking, photography, umpiring many sports, learning to fly his own plane, sailing, world travel, study of religions, and a lifelong interest in geology and chemistry. He graduated from Whittier College in 1959 with degrees in both geology and chemistry. 

His greatest loves were his family. His wife, and soulmate of 65 years, Huntley, who he called Wonder Woman. He will be missed by his eleven children; Stuart ✝ (Lib), Deborah (Kelly), Sun Yong (Mike), Aaron (Gabi), Adena, Joel (Geneva), Rachel (Jeff), Geoff (Tanya), Eric (Memory), Allison (Markus), and Olivia Lynette. His siblings; Terry (Linda), Jill Jenkins, deceased, and Curg Petersen, deceased. His parents, Reid & Sylvia gave him the foundation for a life well lived. Ted has 27 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. 

Services will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, May 25, 2024 at Russon Mortuary, 1941 North Main Street, Farmington, Utah, with a visitation for family and friends before the service from 12:45-1:45 pm.

The funeral service will be streamed live on the Russon Mortuary Live Facebook page and on this obituary page below. The livestream will begin 10-15 minutes prior to the service at 2 pm.
