Teresa Joye Somers

March 28, 1948 — January 12, 2023

Terri Somers, 74, passed away suddenly at her home in Sunset, Utah, on January 12, 2023, due

to health complications. Terri was born in Morgan, Utah to Porter and Sarah Carter. She was the

fifth of seven children.

After graduating high school, she moved to Ogden where she met and married James Dwight

Mickey. They spent the first few years of their marriage in Washington and Arizona, before

settling back in Utah to start a family.

She was remarried to Chester Allen Somers and moved to Woods Cross in 1986. With whom she loved camping, panningfor gold, Wendover trips and making memories with her friends and family.  Teri was was a rock to her family, not only her 3 boys, but for the 4 other children that she happily filled the mother role for.  She was a no nonsense, funloving and all-around great person

Terri worked various jobs throughout her life but found her career as a Customer Service

Manager at Eaton Kenway (later, HK Systems), where she worked for 26 years, retiring in 2008.

Her adventurous spirit took her to Mazatlán, Mexico where you could find her golfing, playing

cards and enjoying time with friends. Being with her children was her most cherished treasure.

Wanting to be closer to her family she returned to the states living in Bountiful, UT, Grand

Junction, CO, and Ogden, UT before settling in Sunset, UT.

Terri is survived by her sister, Janice (Roger) Pierce; brother, Sheldon (Maxine) Carter; her 6

sons, Richard (Kim) Mickey, Aaron (Amy) Mickey, Carter (Stephanie) Mickey, David “Teague”

(Barbara) Mickey, Corey Somers, Michael (Michelle) Somers and 1 daughter, Jamie (Dustin)

Curtis; 19 grandchildren; and 7 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Chester Allen Somers; siblings, Della (Val);

Alan (Mary); Chris (Jay); and Leland.

At Terri’s request, there will be no formal ceremony. In-lieu of flowers, please donate to the

Cardio-Vascular charity of your choice on her behalf. Cards of sympathy for the family may be

sent to Aaron Mickey on behalf of Teresa Somers; 1061 S. 1875 W. Syracuse, UT 84075
