Tammie Lee Freestone Bratsch

Tammie Lee Bratsch (Freestone), 67, of Centerville, Utah, passed away peacefully on September 10, 2026, at McKay-Dee Hospital, surrounded by her children, siblings, and grandson.

She fought a valiant battle, enduring unseen pains and heartaches with incredible grace. Through it all, her ultimate motivation was to secure more time with her cherished family and friends, especially her beloved grandchildren.

Born on March 16, 1959, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to the late Robert and Ellen Freestone, Tammie was raised in West Bountiful and graduated from Viewmont High School. She inherited a great love for flowers and gardening from her mother. Her meticulously cared-for yard and intentional plantings made her home a neighborhood beacon of beauty. She took great pride and joy in decorating her yard for every holiday, creating beautiful displays that brought smiles to family, friends, and neighbors

Those privileged enough to sit at Tammie's table knew her love was served in the form of a home-cooked meal; she always ensured everyone had their favorite dish during the holidays. Yet, her greatest joy in life was undeniably her grandchildren. She cherished hosting sleepovers, cheering them on at their events, and celebrating their milestones.

A tireless worker, Tammie held two jobs for many years. At Davis Behavioral Health, she served as a Human Service Technician in both adolescent and adult residential treatment programs. She was a compassionate role model and mentor who guided clients through their recovery journeys while supporting her fellow co-workers. Simultaneously, she spent over 25 years at J.A. Taylor Elementary School as an SEM teacher, nurturing students' creativity and talent while heading the student council. During her time there, she had the special joy of working with her own children, Mike and Cheryl, and her granddaughter, Allura.

Tammie is survived by her husband, Bruce; her children, Christopher (Kamilynn), Michael, and Cheryl Lynn (Lonnie); her grandchildren, Allura, Kaden, Kinlee, Kyler, Beckham, Colton, and Archer; and her siblings, Ronald (Peggy), Kevin (Diane), and Pristine (EJ). She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Ellen Freestone; her brothers, Bobby and Lynn; her sister, Barbara; her brother-in-law, Guy; her nephews, Tom and Kevin Jr.; and more extended family and friends than could fit in any church.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints chapel, 900 South 400 East, Centerville, Utah. A viewing will take place on Friday, September 18, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Russon Mortuary, 295 Main Street, Bountiful, Utah, with an additional viewing at the church on Saturday morning from 9:45 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. prior to the service.

Interment will follow at the Bountiful City Cemetery.
