Synthia Ann Nixon

June 17, 1956 — December 10, 2021

Synthia “Sindy” Ann Nixon, 65, of West Valley City, UT passed away December 10, 2021, with her daughter by her side.

Born to parents Tommy L. and Annamarie E. Nixon, June 17, 1956, in Salt Lake City, Utah. Sindy graduated from Viewmont High School in 1974.

Sindy is survived by her two children: Marie Anderson (Jake), of West Valley, UT; Mathew Gardner (Ashley) of Nampa, ID; by the father of her children, Stuart Gardner; and her five grandchildren Shay, Jaze, Jadyn, Skylar, and Jaxtyn. She was preceded in death by her parents Tommy L. in 2002; Annamarie in 2012.

Sindy was devoted to her family and friends and the type of person who would give you anything you needed; even when it meant she would go without. Despite moving several times throughout her life, she always found Utah to be home and would eventually return to care for her mother.

She had a great love of music, anything from the classics of her childhood, to the current Top 40. She instilled this love of music into both children, who have continued to pass this love along to her grandchildren. Sindy also loved cars, she was always adding something to each of them, making them uniquely hers. From shiny wheels to personalized plates, our “Nana” was always riding in style. Sindy was proud of the lives both of her children had created for themselves after she set them free. Her grandchildren were the light of her life and she was always bragging about them to anyone she could. She leaves behind a lifetime of beautiful memories with all that knew her, family, and friends alike.

A viewing will be held on Friday, December 17, 2021 from 9:45 – 10:45 am with the funeral service at 11:00 am, at the Russon Mortuary, 295 N Main St, Bountiful, Utah. The burial will take place thereafter at the Centerville City cemetery.

In lieu of flowers please consider donating to the Memorial account that has been set up to help her children pay for funeral and medical expenses at Mountain America CU. The account number is: 12644295.

Services will be streamed live on the Russon Brothers Mortuary Facebook page and on this obituary page.
