Steven Keith Riley, born on May 23, 1961, passed away leaving behind a legacy of laughter, love, and unwavering generosity that touched the hearts of all who knew him. A lifelong fan of the Yankees and the Miami Dolphins, Steve’s passion for life was matched only by the warmth he extended to everyone in his orbit.
Whether casting lines with his handmade fly rods or unwinding at his cherished cabin in the mountains, Steve found joy in the simple, meaningful pleasures of life.
Steve was also a true gastronomer at heart— he was always on the hunt for that perfect bite. He had a sixth sense for spotting the best dives and neighborhood joints, the kind tucked off quiet highways with neon signs and unforgettable pie.
He was known as the ultimate jokester—the kind of man who could fill a room with laughter and lift a heavy heart with a single wisecrack. But beyond the humor was a depth of kindness that was truly extraordinary. He loved with his whole heart, and those who were fortunate enough to be embraced by it were made better, stronger, and more joyful for having known him.
Steve was an incredible uncle to everybody, the kind every niece and nephew wishes for. He had a magical way of making each one feel like they were the favorite—like they were the most interesting, most important person in the room. Whether through a shared joke, a surprise gift, or just his full-hearted attention, he poured genuine love into every relationship. His presence was pure joy, a compass of generosity and connection for the younger generation in his family.
Steve built a 30-year career with the Federal Aviation Administration. His easy humor, steadfast reliability, and generous spirit made him not only a trusted colleague but a lifelong friend to many.
He was preceded in death by his beloved son Duston, his mother Arlene, and his father Keith. He leaves behind his devoted wife Tonya, his adored granddaughter Allison, his Hollywood dog Rue, his siblings and in-laws, and many others—each of whom carries forward his memory, stories, and spirit.
Steve’s life was a testament to the power of laughter, the importance of family, the joy of a well-made meal, and the beauty of living fully. He will be profoundly missed and eternally celebrated.
