Listen to Obituary

Stephen Seely Morgan, 86, beloved son, brother, husband, father, and gramps passed away surrounded by his family in the early morning hours of June 26, 2026, after a short battle with acute myeloid leukemia. Born April 20, 1940, in Nephi, Utah, he was the second son of four boys of Frank Othello Morgan and Ina Margaret Seely Morgan. Steve grew up on his family’s farm in Nephi, Utah.

At the age of seven he was diagnosed with Perthes disease and subsequently lived at Primary Children’s Hospital for two years with his family only being permitted to visit him once weekly. This experience gave him empathy for others who were suffering or lonely that he carried with him throughout the remainder of his life.

He graduated from Juab High School in 1958 where he was involved in athletics and student government. He served as a missionary in the Southern States Mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from 1960-1962 and graduated from Utah State University with a bachelor’s degree in secondary education. While there, he met Analee Reynolds. They were married September 6, 1963, in the Salt Lake Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and were married 61 years until her passing in May 2025.

Steve taught one year of school in Price, Utah and one year at Brigham Young University before moving to Kansas City, Missouri to attend dental school at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Dentistry. Steve and Analee had two sons, Chad and Kyle, while attending dental school.

Upon graduation, their family moved to Fruit Heights, Utah where they welcomed two more children, Chauntel and Christopher. They moved to Farmington in 1982 where they lived for 37 years. Steve opened his dental practice in Kaysville in 1971 and retired at the age of 80 after 49 years of dentistry. He loved his profession and never had patients- only a practice full of friends.

Steve loved his Savior, Jesus Christ. He served with Analee as a host at the Joseph Smith Memorial Building for 17 years. He cherished spending his Friday evenings welcoming visitors from all over the world and teaching them about our Savior.

Some of Steve’s favorite things were serving others, shopping, fine art, antique furniture, gardening, BYU football, listening to John Denver, and spending time in Lake Powell and Park City.

Above all else, Steve loved his family. His 10 grandchildren were his greatest joy, and he loved supporting them in their various sporting events and activities. His conversations with them always ended with him saying, “Remember you’re…” and they would quickly respond, “Special!”

Steve became Analee’s full-time caretaker after she suffered a severe stroke in February 2019. They moved to Kaysville shortly thereafter. We learned what true love, devotion, and patience were watching Dad lovingly and unfailingly serve her in every aspect of her life. His Christlike love and charity is something we strive to emulate.

Dad lived a life full of adventure and always had a sparkle in his eye and a story to tell. The best word to describe him is iconic - he was a true legend professionally and personally. He made a mark in the lives of so many people and had a unique way of making everyone he encountered feel important, safe, and special.

Dad, your passing has left a huge void in our lives that will never be filled until we meet again. We love you! Gramps, remember you’re…

Steve is survived by his children Kyle (Emily), Chauntel, Christopher (Natalie); grandchildren Kylee, Gage (Olivia), Ike, Drake, Brooks, Britton, Lucy, Charlotte, Mason (Sarah) Wright, Graham Wright; brother Michael.

Preceded in death by his wife Analee; his son Chad; brothers Jon and Bill; parents; in-laws Aaron Wright Reynolds and Emma Priscilla Jones Reynolds.
