Stephen Lloyd Smith, 80, resided in Bountiful, Utah. He died April 22, 2026, peacefully in his home. He was born November 27, 1945, in American Fork, Utah, to Robert and Norma Smith, where he was one of seven children.
Stephen married Valerie Shawn Smith on June 16, 1981. Together they had two children: Tee John Smith (Catherine), and Jessica Jean Smith. He was previously married to Suzanne Walker, together they had four sons: Taz Stephen Smith (Roni), Justin Reed Smith (Mary), Sidney Lloyd Smith (Traci), and Burke Jason Smith (Heidi).
Stephen grew up on a farm where he developed an incredible work ethic that drove him throughout his life. He worked in the car business for over 50+ years where he found joy in helping people and creating lifelong friendships.
Stephen was an avid outdoorsman where he enjoyed hunting, camping, fishing, and golfing. One of dad’s favorite accomplishments in life was playing football at Weber State University and being drafted by the New York Giants. Dad enjoyed spending his summers at the cabin in Flaming Gorge listening to his 8-tracks.
Stephen is survived by his wife Shawn, 5 children, 19 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and 4 siblings.
Preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, son Justin, and granddaughter Rosalie.
Stephen lived a life full of adventure with the belief that anything could be fixed.

A viewing will be held from 12:00-1:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at Russon Mortuary, 295 N. Main Street, Bountiful, Utah. Graveside services will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Memorial Lakeview Cemetery, 1640 East Lakeview Drive in Bountiful.
