Our beloved treasured Stephen Dee Linge, passed away at the age of 48 on August 23, 2025. Our loving father, brother, son, uncle and friend will be forever missed. Stephen was born on September 9, 1976, in Murray, UT to Dee Thomas Linge and Diann Fisher Linge. Stephen graduated in 1995 from Murray High School, and was an asset for the swimming and water polo teams, where he still holds swimming records.
Stephen loved being in the water. Swimming was a huge part of his life. Through all his dedication, discipline and ability to work towards a goal, he was able to earn a full ride scholarship to the University of Utah.
Later on, Stephen chose to serve a full-time mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He faithfully served in the Cordoba, Argentina mission. He embraced their culture and grew a love for the Spanish language. During his mission he developed a deep love for his Savior and better understanding of the love that the Savior has for us.
While on his mission, he fell in love with the food which ignited a passion for cooking. One of his favorite things to do was prepare gourmet dishes for others. This gave him many opportunities to spend precious time with his girls in the kitchen.
Stephen had an insatiable appetite for learning. His interests were as diverse as his language. He loved Greek Mythology, history, precious metals, paleontology, all things financial, video games, movies and music.
Stephen had such a goofy nature and found joy in making people laugh. He also knew how to comfort someone in need and knew the right words to say. Most of all, he loved the quality time he got to spend with his girls. For him, this was pure bliss.
On August 28, 2001, Stephen married the love of his life, Deborah Ann Gardiner. They raised 4 children: Jessalyn Horton, Skyler Linge, Logan Dee Linge, and Gillian Ava Linge. Stephen was preceded in death by his beautiful wife Debbie, and father Dee. He is survived by his children, mother Diann and siblings Traci, DeeAnn (Kirk), Sheri (Jeff) and Clark.
In lieu of flowers, a trust has been set up for his daughter’s to help cover funeral expenses. Venmo account @thelingegirls Thank you for your love and support.
