Stephen Craig Criddle

October 23, 1958 — July 11, 2025

Stephen Craig Criddle was born October 23, 1958, in Ogden Utah and passed away unexpectedly at his home on July 11th, 2025, at the age of 66. Stephen grew up in Kaysville, Utah and graduated from Davis High School. He married his high school sweetheart, Audrey, on July 9th, 1976, and they had just celebrated their 49th anniversary. He was an exceptional athlete, lettering in multiple sports and winning multiple state championships. He loved music, passing on that love to his children and grandchildren. He played the piano beautifully, spending many evenings entertaining his family, who all loved when he played. Stephen retired from HAFB on October 29th of 2020 after 29 years of service. He was affable with a sometimes-irreverent sense of humor, which his sons inherited. He loved the outdoors and shared this love with his family. He found a sense of peace working in his yard. He had built what has been described as the most beautiful yard ever seen, and as a paradise built for his love. Stephen was dedicated to those he loved and showed it through service. Always the first to lend a hand and show up when needed. He was one of the most capable men. If you ever had a problem and told someone “I don’t know, but I know a guy”, if you knew him, chances are, he was that guy. He was a wonderful father, who raised capable sons, who endeavor to honor him by loving through service as he did. Words fail to describe his dedication and love as a husband. He was “through thick and thin” personified. More than anything, he had an ability to love unconditionally. He was a giant of a man in all things and will leave a giant hole in our hearts. He will be loved eternally.

He is preceded in death by his father, Melvin George Criddle, his Mother, Sherry Donne Criddle, and his son, Stephen Kade Criddle.

He is survived by his wife, Audrey. His sons (two of which he liked though never said which two) Carson (Ainise), Nicholas (Huyen), and Neal (Ivana) and seven grandchildren. His seven siblings Michael (Lynne), Julie Davidson (Brad), Carolyn, Ronald (Deborah), Kent, Diana Coatney (Tom), and Kevin (Laurie).
