Stephanie Ferguson

May 16, 1965 — September 7, 2025

Stephanie Swain Ferguson, beloved wife, daughter, sister, niece, cousin, and friend returned to her Heavenly Father at 11:43 PM on Sunday September 7th, 2025 at the age of 60. She had her adoring, loving, caregiver husband of 24 years Brandon Ferguson by her side. Stephanie was born on Sunday May 16th,1965 in Bountiful, Utah to Arlin and Marsha Swain her loving, hardworking, exceptional and caregiver parents. Stephanie had a very close and tender relationship with her parents. She truly exemplified what it means to "honor thy parents". Stephanie lived her whole life in Bountiful, Utah. She graduated from Woods Cross High School in 1983 and received a standing ovation when she received her diploma. Her best furry friend was their dog Shamu, a pure white Shih Tzu. He was huge part of Stephanie's life while she lived with her parents and recovered from multiple surgeries.

On July 20th, 2001 Stephanie married the love of her life, best friend and companion Brandon Ferguson. She was a wonderful homemaker and caregiver to Brandon. And she was a caregiver to her parents in their later years. Stephanie and Brandon bought a beautiful home, built by her father, and created a wonderful life together that was filled with love, fun and more than her fair share of physical limitations due to multiple severe chronic conditions. These conditions required many surgeries, many months of physical therapy and recovery. She overcame all the trials, challenges and setbacks along the way with grace. But through all her years of pain and suffering that spanned most of her life she was full of life, happiness, kindness, forgiveness and strength. On Friday May 16th, 2025 her 60th birthday Stephanie and Brandon made their union eternal when they were sealed for time and eternity in the Bountiful temple. This day was truly a miracle which was witnessed by those that were in attendance.

Her marriage was filled with many trips to California, multiple trips to the island of Oahu Hawaii, a honeymoon to Florida, many short stays in Midway, Utah and a Mexican Rivera cruise with her parents among others. Her favorites places to visit which brought her the most happiness and joy were Disneyland, Solvang, California and the island of Oahu in Hawaii. She knew how Disneyland should be done. That was from when the park opened to when it closed. Her favorite ride was Big Thunder Mountain. But most of all she just loved being in Disneyland for the experience and yes, the food.

Stephanie had such a sense of adventure and fun. Her friends would take her during the week on fun outings where she could decide what they would do and where they would go that day. With her physical limitations Stephanie and Brandon were still able to find many things that they could do together over the years. They enjoyed going to weekly movies, Broadway shows, Red Rocks gymnastics meets, the Stadium of Fire, concerts, Swiss Days, the Utah State Fair, FanX and countless other shows at the Eccles Theater and other venues. But she was also perfectly content just being at home or with spending time with her parents. She was able to attend various events until March 2025. She loved all the events she was able to attend they brought so much joy and happiness allowing her to make many great memories with Brandon.

Stephanie had a gift for planning get-togethers with friends and neighbors. She was the one to call or text and get people together where many fun memories were made.

She had many collections, interests and hobbies. She loved Disney, Barbie, Marvel, DC, Star Wars, Betty Boop, Funko pops, Itty Bittys, miniature tea sets, music, makeup, jewelry, stuffed animals, Precious Moments, reading, and anything related to Paris. She was in a book club for many years. Her favorite Disney Princess was Cinderella followed by Snow White as a close second. Some of her favorite movies were Xanadu, Grease and UP. She watched Dancing with the Stars and American Idol religiously. She loved anything pink and blingy. The more pink and bling the better. She loved any kind of flower. When she was physically able to she enjoyed taking care of some potted flowers on our porch. Her favorite type of food was Mexican food. She loved putting on makeup and jewelry and coordinating outfits with Brandon when attending events. She couldn't wear the clothes and shoes she wanted, but she always found something she liked and allowed her to express her sweet and glowing personality.

Stephanie is survived by her loving devoted caregiver husband Brandon Ferguson her siblings Mark Swain (Kristie) Bountiful, UT Mike Swain (Charlotte) Woods Cross, UT Lisa Jarvis Bountiful, UT (Mark). She also leaves behind many dear friends and extended family who miss her dearly. She is preceded in death by her parents Arlin and Marsha Swain.Stephanie will be remembered for her unwavering faith in the Gospel of Jesus Christ, love, devotion to her parents, friends and husband, and huge heart among many other things. She leaves behind a legacy of fragile-strength, long-suffering, dignity, service, forgiveness, generosity and kindness. She served as the greeter for the Relief Society, was a ministering sister to other sisters in the ward, and she served in various other capacities. Stephanie brought so much good and light everywhere she went. She was a blessing to all who knew her. Her Christlike example and fragile-strength touched countless lives.

While it is heartbreaking and devastating for those that are still here, there is immense comfort and peace in knowing that she has been relieved of her suffering, pain and struggles. I can only try and imagine the glorious reunion she has had with her parents and others. Stephanie had big dreams of being a dancer and mother among other things. And small simple dreams like riding a bike and flying a kite. But her mortal body didn't allow for those things. But her faith in the Gospel of Jesus Christ was unshakeable. She knew that the promise of the resurrection and a fair and just Heavenly Father would allow her with a perfected body to do all the things she couldn't in this life. She will be deeply missed, but it's just for a short time until we are reunited, never to apart again.

Stephanie's husband Brandon would like to thank the caregivers at Monument Health Bountiful, Bristol Hospice, TOSH, LDS Hospital, Intermountain Medical Center, Salt Lake Clinic, and Lakeview Hospital for their care, love and support.
