Shirley Jo Glover, passed away peacefully on May 11, 2026 at Apple Village assisted living facility in Layton, Utah, where the staff there gave her compassionate care. Elevation Hospice also rendered needed care with expert experience and compassion. She was 83 years old.

She was born in Scottsburg, Indiana, to DorothyBell Mardis and John Willard Shields. Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Roy E. Glover, who passed away in 2011, her children, Rody Jo Hufstetler (2014) and Daniel Glover (2020).

She is survived by her daughter Dorothy Harder, her spouse Steve, grandsons Casey Clapp, Brant, and Brennan Hufstetler, and four great-children. She also has 3 nieces and 3 nephews.

Shirley retired from Clearfield Job Corps, where she worked as a horticulture instructor, art room director, and grounds maintenance painting instructor.

She was a talented artist and creative woman. She possessed a green thumb and could grow anything. She is known and loved for her empathy, smile, and personality. She was devoted to those around her and to the Catholic Church.

Shirley is lovingly remembered by her family and all who knew her. She was beloved by the Hooper community, with whom she formed lifelong friendships and whom she loved. She will be deeply missed.
