Shauna Lynn Jacobs

October 9, 1963 — June 4, 2026

Kaysville

On June 4, 2026, our sister, aunt and friend, Shauna Lynn Jacobs passed away peacefully in her sleep at LDS Hospital after a lengthy battle with leukemia after previously surviving endometrial cancer five years prior.

Shauna is preceded in death by her father and mother Lamont and Barbara Jacobs and a brother, Michael Jacobs. She is survived by her brother Reed Jacobs and sister Sherri Dusenberry.

Born on October 9, 1963, to Lamont and Barbara Jacobs, Shauna grew up in Bountiful as a young child. Her family later moved to Kaysville where she graduated from Davis High School in 1981.

Shauna loved to learn. She attended BYU Hawaii and graduated from the University of Utah with a degree in political science during which time Shauna also completed an internship in Washington DC with Senator Orrin Hatch’s office. She spent time in Logan working with Options for Independence and Common Ground, helping special needs individuals with disabilities enjoy outdoor activities. Shauna loved nature and made friends wherever she went.

Throughout her life, Shauna formed deep connections with the places she visited, especially touched by her visit to Israel and Egypt. She also found meaning and purpose in every place she resided. Shauna lived in Park City for some time, where she was able to use her passion for skiing as a ski instructor, helping others experience the joy she felt on the mountain. Shauna also spent time in the Alaskan fisheries before moving to California, where she worked in a National Park. Shauna was a protector of all things living.

Shauna returned to Utah and worked at Whole Foods and Kohls, before her endometrial cancer diagnosis. Her parents, Lamont and Barbara Jacobs, cared for her while she battled her initial cancer, and after her recovery and remission, she helped to care for them.

Shauna had a fun and infectious sense of humor. She loved going to movies, and especially enjoyed talking to her many friends.

Shauna appreciated the care and concern she received during her treatment at LDS hospital in Salt Lake. She trusted the many caring professionals who worked diligently to help her. She also appreciated the many people who stepped up to help her during this last round of cancer and during this past year.
