Sharon Tolley Stevenson

June 18, 1939 — July 14, 2022

The world lost one of its brightest lights this week.
Sharon Tolley Stevenson, age 83, passed away peacefully just before sunrise on Thursday, July
14 th .
Sharon truly made the world a better place.
She was the perfect balance of kind and courageous. Faithful and funny. Steadfast and spicy.
Adventurous and empathetic. Loving and a tender. She was a leader and always led with
compassion. She loved her family fiercely and would do anything for her children,
grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Sharon was the definition of charity and spent her life serving others. Her car rarely lived in
the garage, instead it lived on the road to serve… taking meals, giving rides, comforting,
listening, cheering up and cheering on.
There wasn’t a person she wouldn’t talk to. She didn’t have acquaintances – everyone who
met her was her friend and she cared deeply for them.
Sharon was born on June 18, 1939 to James Elmer Tolley and Fonda McPherson Tolley in
Pocatello, Idaho.
She married her best friend and high school sweetheart Reid Stevenson on September 19, 1958
in the Logan, Utah LDS Temple.
Sharon and Reid were a force – a hilarious duo who loved to be together, laugh, and have fun.
They were always on the go and you were always invited.
Together they had five children, ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Sharon touched lives no matter where she served, lived or worked.
She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and in the church
served in many positions. Some of her favorites were leading youth, women and organizing
girls camp. She was one to give advice that lasted a lifetime and she is loved by so many.
She served two LDS missions with her husband at Martin’s Cove.
Sharon’s love of people and water were the perfect combination for her career teaching
hundreds of kids to swim.
She loved the outdoors, camping and waterskiing with her family.
Sharon is survived by her children Toni (Jim) Eddington, Kurt (Carla) Stevenson, Mike
(Marie) Stevenson and Nicole (Jason) Denne.
She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband Reid, brothers and daughter Hallie.
