Shari LeAnn Sandberg was called home on July 7, 2026.
She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in various capacities one of which was serving the young women of the church which she loved and developed lasting relationships.
Shari is the second of five daughters born to Darla Rae Walker and Murry Grant Gudmundson on March 26, 1963.
Shari is survived by her sweetheart John Sandberg, her mother Darla Walker, her father Murry Grant Gudmundson (Valerie), her sisters: Dena Gibson, Lisa Baptiste, and Tracy Gudmundson, Brother-in-Law Scott Thomas, nieces and nephews: Whitney Alfred, Alexis Baptiste (Tina Rimal), Sadie Cook, Morgan Thomas, Wyatt Thomas (Faith), Logan Thomas (Emma), Caleb Baker, Madyson Mattox, and Kaylee Farrow, along with many uncles, aunts, cousins, and very close friends all of whom Shari loved deeply.
Preceded in death by her sister Kara Thomas (Scott Thomas), stepfather Larry Walker, and nephew Meziah Baker.
Shari had the special gift of being the sunshine in all of our lives. She was kind-hearted, quick witted, sassy, and best of all non-judgmental. She loved and accepted everyone at face value, no questions asked. Above all, she loved her family.
Even through her tremendous health and life trials she always focused on building others up and throwing in some humor while at it. This is a testament of truth clear until she drew her last earthly breath.
She is loved beyond measure and will be missed by all who have been left behind. We celebrate her freedom from physical pain and struggle as she joyfully stepped through the veil and was welcomed by loved ones who have passed on before her. It was a day of great celebration!
