Shane William Carlson

July 13, 1979 — December 5, 2023

Shane William Carlson, our loving son, brother, uncle, cousin, nephew and friend, age 44, returned to Heavenly Father on Tuesday, December 5, 2023, surrounded by his loving family due to organ failure.

He was born on July 13, 1979 (which just happened to be Friday the 13th, which he absolutely loved) in Bountiful, Utah to Ernest Wm. Carlson and JaNeel Stone Franson.

Shane was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He graduated from Viewmont High School in Bountiful, Utah. He was a hard worker and held various jobs during his life. He worked for years in his family’s business, Carlson Catering. During Covid, that business was put on hold, and he started a new business with his father, S and E Hot Shot Truckers. When the economy reopened, he worked both businesses until his death.

Shane loved being in nature. The great outdoors was his playground. He played as hard as he worked. Skiing, snowboarding, snowmobiling, fishing, boating, water skiing, attending football games, flying kites, and vacationing in Alaska and Hawaii were some of his happy places.

Shane loved his family dearly. When you were hugged by Shane, it was always a huge tender-hearted hug. You could feel his love for you. He was very kind-hearted and generous to everyone. He loved a good joke and a good steak.  He will be missed by all who know him.

Shane’s generosity will live on through the many people who will be blessed by his abundant organ donation.

He is survived by his parents, Ernest Wm. Carlson (Staci) Bountiful, UT; JaNeel Stone Franson (Robert), Meridian, ID; siblings, Jeremy (Natalie), Eagle River, AK; Rian (Nicole) Bountiful, UT; Shanna Farley (Brent) Meridian, ID; Remington (Alyssa) Washington, UT; Cameron (Zak) LaVerkin, UT; Quinton, Bountiful, UT; Amanda Kalakis (Tony) Farmington, UT; grandpa, James Soden, Hamilton, MT; fifteen nieces and nephews; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who will miss his smile, hugs and great sense of humor.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Joshua Lorin Carlson; nephew, Chase Farley; grandparents, Grant and Marjorie Carlson; Lorin and Maurine Stone; Ruth Soden; Grandma Oma; Max and Ellen Franson; cousin, Robbie Darger.

A public viewing will be held from 8:30 -9:45 a.m. Saturday, December 16, 2023 at Russon Mortuary, 295 North Main, Bountiful followed by a private celebration of life for family and close friends. Interment at Centerville Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made at his GoFundMe page:   https://gofund.me/18179d9e

Shane, we love you, we miss you, and you will always hold a special place in our hearts until we meet again.
