Scott Osguthorpe, 48, of North Salt Lake City, Utah, passed away on November 22, 2025.
Born on August 10, 1977, in Salt Lake City, Utah, Scott was the beloved older brother of seven siblings and a man whose life was defined by hard work, generosity, and devotion to those around him.In his early twenties, Scott invested in a small cabinet company. Over the next 27 years, he helped grow the business into a thriving enterprise, eventually becoming its majority shareholder. He led by example—staying late, working weekends and holidays, and treating employees like family.
Scott found joy in riding ATVs at the sand dunes with his brothers and sisters, watching movies in the epic home theater he built, turning wooden bowls on his lathe, and assembling elaborate Lego sets. His generosity was legendary, matched only by his intellect, quick wit, and sincerity.
Though busy with his company, Scott always made time for the people in his life. He always went above and beyond to help his family, friends, employees, business acquaintances, and even complete strangers. He was known for freely sharing his wisdom and honest opinion and being the person others could count on no matter the hour. He mentored young business owners, offered honest counsel to anyone who sought his advice, and gave freely of his time and resources without expectation of return. Not only was he famous for doling out advice but he was also known to hand out twenty-dollar bills at children’s lemonade stands.
Scott will be greatly missed by his siblings, brother- and sisters-in-law, nephews, other close family members, and a wide circle of friends and colleagues.
The family invites all who wish to honor Scott’s memory to do so through a simple act of kindness — mentor someone, help a friend, or overpay at the next lemonade stand you see.
He lived well and gave even better. He will not be forgotten.
