1954 Scott 2025

Scott T. Murray

February 24, 1954 — December 17, 2025

Scott T. Murray passed away peacefully in his sleep on the morning of December 17th, 2025 with his loved ones.

Scott was born on February 24, 1954, in Ogden, Utah, to Evan Geddes Murray and Rita Marie Kendall Murray. While attending Clearfield High School, he came into his own as a gifted athlete, excelling in both basketball and baseball and leading his basketball team to a gold medal at the Junior Olympics. He graduated in 1972. Driven from a young age, Scott began learning the plumbing trade at just 16, working for Bob Spears of Spears Plumbing. That early ambition never faded—he went on to build a successful plumbing company of his own in California, taking great pride in his craftsmanship and in his ability to provide for his family.

When Scott wasn't working, he could be found doing what he loved most—working with his hands and enjoying the outdoors. He had a passion for restoring and racing classic cars, including his 1949 English Ford Anglia and, most notably, his beloved 1955 Chevy. That Chevy was more than a project; it was a reflection of who he was—patient, skilled, and happiest with an engine in front of him. He also treasured riding his Harley with friends and casting a line while fishing, finding peace, freedom, and connection in life's simpler moments.

Above all, Scott was a devoted family man. He was a proud father to Crystal, Travis, Hayes, Wren, Luke, and Hope and nothing brought him greater joy than his role as grandfather to Treson, Lucas, Melody, and Ava. His grandchildren held a special place in his heart, and he treasured every moment spent with them.

Scott was survived by his siblings, Mark, Ty, Chris, and Robin; Crystal Murray and her mother Sheila Marie; Travis and his mother Janis Watkins, Hayes, Wren, Hope and their mother Trisa Murray; grandchildren Treyson, Luscas, Melody, and Ava; and his beloved partner Stephanie Gooch.

Scott was preceded in death by his parents, Evan and Rita Murray; his infant son, Luke; and his brother, Jeff.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 20th. A viewing will be held at 9:30 a.m. with the funeral at 11 a.m. at Russon Mortuary in Syracuse, Utah. Scott will be laid to rest following the services at West Point Cemetery.

Scott will be remembered for his strength, independence, and the legacy of love and memories he leaves with his family and friends.
