In Loving Memory of Scot Vern Neilson August 7, 1961 – August 30, 2026

Scot Vern Neilson, a beloved Father, Brother, and Friend passed away unexpectedly on August 30, 2026.

Scot grew up in Bountiful, Utah and met the world with humor and kindness. He had a goofy sense of humor that always made everyone laugh, and a warmth that made people glad to be near him. He had many friends, including high school friendships that lasted to the end of his life.

As an Eagle Scout, Scot loved the outdoors, camping, and skiing. He loved music and enjoyed playing the guitar, drums, and electric bass and would invite anyone to join in to play with him. Scot was a great golfer and had a great passion for the game. He was taught by his father, and he loved the game most when Vern was in the group.

Above all, Scot loved being a father. His daughter Carly was the absolute light of his life, and they spent so much time together building memories. He would do anything for her and never passed up an opportunity to say to others, “I just love Carly so much… she’s such a good girl.”

Scot was preceded in death by his parents, Vern and Marilyn Neilson. He is survived by his daughter, Carly Scot Neilson; his sister, Nancy Toone (husband David); his brother, Randy Neilson (wife Milissa); and many nieces and nephews.

He will be dearly missed by all. Scot, we love you!
