Clearfield

Ruth Ellen Hudson was born September 28, 1943, in Wilmington, Delaware to Joseph and Constance Hudson.  She had six half siblings:  Paul Lully Jr., Phillip A. Lully, Karen Marie Lully (Richard Lumadue), Cindy K. Zahuranec, David L. Lully (Robin), and Elise Pinkowski.  Ruth was raised by her grandparents Ernest W. Minner and Viola May Minner and she adored them.  She graduated from Wilmington high school and her first job was at the Delaware Hospital doing lab work.  She later moved to Miami, Florida where she met and married Joseph Kohrn.  They moved to Sandy, Utah where their only child, Steven, was born.  Later divorced and married Curtis Perry in 1979, the true love of her life.  They were later sealed in the Salt Lake City Temple.  Together they raised Steven, whom Curtis adopted.  She worked at Phillips 66 refinery in Woods Cross, Utah first doing lab work and eventually environmental science field work for the refinery.  She enjoyed her work very much.  She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving for many years in the Boy Scouts and other callings including Relief Society and visiting teaching.  She was a member of the Fruit Heights 1st Ward for many, many years where she had many friends and loved ones.  She loved camping and boating with Curtis and Steven at Lake Powell and other wonderful places in Utah.  She enjoyed ceramics and a variety of crafts in which she excelled.  She adored her son Steven and supported him in his music, skiing, rock climbing, scuba diving and other adventures.

She is survived by her son Steven Perry, her six stepchildren, Richard Perry, Grant Perry, Carol Bjork, Janice Bosworth (Norman), Elaine Youngberg (Ross) and Sharon Youngberg (Mark), and by five of her half siblings (Paul Lully has passed away).

Ruth passed away on October 5, 2022.  Ruth and her family want to thank her care givers Deana, Paola, and Nancy of CNS, and Bessie with Visiting Angels and others who gave her a good quality of life and companionship in her later years.
