Ruth Johnson Johnson

December 22, 1927 — June 18, 2021

Ruth Johnson Johnson, 93, peacefully passed away of natural causes Friday, June 18, 2021 at her home.
She was born December 22, 1927 in Salt Lake City, Utah to John Edgar Johnson and Tressie Ann Pierce. She was raised in Castle Gate, Carbon County where she met and married her childhood sweetheart, DeVon Johnson, on August 12, 1944. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple on May 8, 1958.
During their married life they lived in many different cities in Utah, Idaho, Montana, Hawaii, and California, as Ruth kept moving their home supporting DeVon’s new business opportunities. Ruth loved the outdoors snow skiing, boating, and until about 5 years ago went to Lake Powell every summer.
Ruth was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and enjoyed serving in the various organizations. She loved serving as an ordinance worker in the Bountiful temple and loved her time being in the temple.
Ruth is survived by sisters Faye Woodward and Jerri Piccioni. Also Survived by Children: Ruth Ann Clark, Rickie Staska, Evonne Jensen, and James Johnson. Together DeVon and Ruth had six children as well as 39 grandchildren, 75 great grandchildren and 17 great great-grand-children.
Ruth loved her family, and friends. She enjoyed her home and yard with its beautiful roses and fruit trees.
She was preceded in death by baby daughter Jackie, by her son Kenneth, by her husband DeVon, and a grandson Jeremiah Johnson.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, June 25, 2021 at the North Canyon 7th Ward, 3350 South 100 East, Bountiful. A viewing will be held Friday June 25 in the North Canyon Ward from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM. Interment-Valley View Cemetery 4335 W 4100 S, West Valley City, UT 84120.
