Rubin Rodriguez

Born in Manhattan, October 20th, 1933 and passed away peacefully November 24, 2025. Living 92 years of celebration of his history of a loving family and friends.

Born during the Great Depression, Rubin started working at a young age shining shoes at Grand Central Rail Station. He spent most of his childhood in Manhattan earning his credits in High School as a Pressman he attended academics on the 5th floor of one school building and his trade in another. He also attended theaters on Madison Avenue

Joining the United States Air Force in 1952 serving through the Korean War; receiving the National Defense Service Medal, Korean Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. Rubin’s service brought him to Hill Air Force Base and the mountains surrounding Ogden, Utah. While stationed in Ogden, Rubin married Froydis Johansen in 1955. He was honored in life blessed with his son Rubin and daughters Vivian, Rita and Sonja. His love for life will continue through the generations always looking to new horizons and clear skies through 14 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

Rubin was active with hobbies such as bike riding, building Model Railroad Tracks, playing records, RC Cars, leather crafts, fishing, gardening, target practice and photography.

Family activities were camping at Big Bear, fishing, boating at Lake Powell, Der Winer Schnitzel, Disneyland and Knotts Berry Farm along with a lot of days at the beach. Holidays were an important time of the year with buying gifts and creating the spirit of Christmas.

Rubin enjoyed spending time with his niece Ismara as she grew up, Kitty a good friend always there with great family support, and the friends he made at Assisted Living Facility Janet, Mike, Robin and Brooklyn.

His most important activity was to go places and drive his 1985 Nissan until the age of 92.
