Ronald Blair Stringham

August 14, 1941 — May 20, 2021

Ronald Blair Stringham, “Ringo”, peacefully passed away from natural causes on Thursday, May 20, 2021, surrounded by his family and loved ones.

Ron was born August 14, 1941, in Salt Lake City to Edith Ilda Reed and Henry Blair Stringham. He was the oldest of 4 children and was raised in Salt Lake City. He met Lynda Madsen in 1957 while she was participating in a road show. They went together until both graduated from South High School and were married at the Hillside Stake Center on September 2, 1960. They were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on their fifth anniversary. Ron and Lynda celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in September of last year.

Ron attended Liberty Elementary School, Lincoln Jr. School, and South High School. After graduating from South High School, he worked for the Royal Bread Company with his friend Ray van Uitert, while attending courses for auto adjudication. He enjoyed his career as an engineer with the Utah Department of Transportation for 37 years. He was a hard worker and an excellent lifelong provider for his family. After retiring, he was elected president of the retired club that met twice a year. He loved to get together with everyone and share memories.

One of Ron’s goals was to become a black belt before age 50. He was immensely proud he made that goal and loved to show his kids and his grandchildren his karate moves…and boy did he have the moves! Ron also had a passion for restoring old cars and loved to go to car shows in and around Utah. Talking about his cars and showing them off brought him a great deal of joy.

Ron was a very social person and enjoyed being the life of the party. He had friends wherever he went, and if he did not know you, you were his friend before he left. Ron kept his endearing sense of humor and signature dance step to the very end.

He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served in many callings, most recently in the Bishopric of the Life Care Center, as well as in the Bishopric of the Young Adult Ward.

His greatest treasure was his family. He loved to tell you everything they were involved in and doing with their lives. He thoroughly enjoyed going to watch his kids and grandkids in any type of activities they were involved in.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents, and his infant brother, Richard. He is survived by his wife, Lynda, his 4 children, Tami Berger, Tina (Brent) Price, Travis Stringham and Trent Stringham, his 13 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren, his brother Roger (Pam) Stringham and his sisters Karen (Don) Moore and Linda (Bob) Brady.

The Stringham family would like to extend a warm and sincere thank you to the staff at Creekside Assisted Living and Renew Hospice, especially Leila, Olga, Braden -and Kelli who cared for Ron with great love and respect.
