Roma Joyce Tucker Hansen

On Thursday, July 9, 2026, at the age of 91, Roma Joyce Tucker Hansen, cherished wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, peacefully completed her earthly journey. Joyce was born on June 13, 1935, in a small adobe house in Fairview, Utah, to Hilden Elias and Roma Valicia Stansfield Tucker. 

Joyce was a curious and high spirited child who grew up in a home full of love and hard work. When Joyce was a junior in high school, she began dating C. Scott Hansen, who became the love of her life and her eternal companion. Scott and Joyce were married in the Salt Lake Temple on November 23, 1955. Together, they lovingly raised five daughters, Kathy, Mindy, Lisa, Lynne and Holly and two sons, David and Larry.Joyce's most cherished roles in life were those of wife and mother and she poured everything she had into those roles. 

She was a woman of many talents and she used them daily to make her world a better place for herself and others. A favorite song of hers says, "There is beauty all around, when there's love at home." Joyce turned that around and, because there was love at home, there was beauty all around, in everything she touched. Joyce was an award-winning seamstress, sewing the most beautiful items for her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.Joyce loved homemaking in every sense of the word and made every home she lived in a thing of beauty, inside and out. For Joyce, family times were cherished times filled with music, love and laughter. Sunday evenings were often set aside for these family evenings at home, where each participated and treats were always provided.

Joyce lived a faithful, obedient life, dedicated to living the gospel of Jesus Christ. She was a faithful and courageous member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, leading and serving in many callings throughout her life. She especially loved serving as a temple ordinance worker with her beloved husband Scott. Together, they served in the Mesa and then Gilbert temples for many years. Now, they are once again united in perfect health and happiness.

Joyce was preceded in death by the love of her life Scott, her parents, older sisters Vivian, Winona and LaNon, and younger brother Paul. She is survived by her older brother Owen, younger sister Mary, her seven children, twenty-nine grandchildren and twenty-one great grandchildren.

Joyce will be remembered in a memorial service at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 5, 2026 in Orem, Utah at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints meeting house, located at 85 East 700 North, Orem, Utah 84057. She and her husband Clifford Scott Hansen, will be interred together at the Spring City Cemetery at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, September 5, 2026.
