Roger “Tim” Toller passed away peacefully on Monday, September 15, 2025, in Bountiful, Utah, at the age of 89. Tim was born on February 14, 1936, in Ogden, Utah, to Virgil Cole and Annie Ione Paine Toller.
Tim grew up in Ogden, Utah graduating from Ogden High School. He loved his hometown and often spoke fondly of the wonderful childhood he shared with his five siblings.
Hardworking from an early age, Tim sold worms and delivered newspapers as a boy. His work as a young man included Brown’s Ice Cream Company and the credit department for Sears. He faithfully served his country for three years in the United States Army. Always resourceful, he was known for loaning money to fellow soldiers and could often be found at the pay window on payday, ready to collect. Following his military service, he worked at Hometown Finance before starting and running his own businesses.
As a father, Tim filled his children’s lives with adventure, providing hunting, fishing, skiing, and boating trips that built lasting family memories. He will be remembered for his sense of humor, his ability to create good times at family gatherings, his strong work ethic, and his deep pride in his Ogden roots.
His greatest legacy is his posterity—five children, 21 grandchildren, and a growing number of great-grandchildren who all love him dearly. In recent years, Tim spoke of looking forward to reuniting with his parents and especially his grandmother, Lucy Emma Malan-Rodabush.
Tim is survived by his children: Paul (Audrey) Toller, Dan (Stephanie) Toller, Scott (Janelle) Toller, Tammie Hosman, and Brent (Mindy) Toller, as well as his brothers Dan (Sue) Toller and David (Ruth) Toller. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings Robert, Ken, and Lou Ann Child.
The family would like to thank the staff and friends at Creekside for making his last year so pleasant, and Ovation Hospice for their outstanding care. A special thanks also to Mary Ann and Cooper at Joule Plaza in St. George, whose kindness and respect helped make a new chapter of his life a smooth transition.
