Roger Bruce Madsen passed away on June 21, 2026, in Clinton, Utah, at the age of 66.
Bruce was born on March 13, 1960, in Van Nuys, California, to Roland Madsen and Vernise Hansen. Throughout his life, he lived in several places, but Utah became the home where he raised his family. He spent many years in Centerville, Utah, raising his four children—Matthew, Gregory, Jessica, and Alison—before later making his home in Clinton.
As a young man, he faithfully served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Denmark. His mission left a lasting impression on him, and he developed a deep love for the Danish people and culture, and often spoke of his desire to return and visit the country that had become so meaningful to him. After his mission, Bruce received his Bachelors and Masters degrees from Westminster College in Business Administration.
Bruce valued knowledge in all its forms and possessed many talents. He had a remarkable gift for working with his hands and a deep love for woodworking. He found great satisfaction in renovating homes, often generously lending his time, talents and tools to friends, neighbors, and anyone in need. He was known for his willingness to help and his ability to turn a project into something lasting and beautiful.
A lifelong baseball enthusiast, Bruce loved the game both on and off the field. He spent many years coaching his sons’ competitive baseball teams sharing his love and knowledge of the game. Later in life, some of his greatest joys came from watching his grandchildren play sports and cheering them on from the sidelines.
Bruce will be remembered for his generous spirit, strong work ethic, quiet service, and deep love for his family. His legacy lives on through his children, grandchildren, and the many people whose lives he touched through his kindness and willingness to help.
He is survived by his spouse Jill, and children - Matt(Erica), Greg(Hayley), Jessica(Drew), and Ali(Josh), along with his beloved grandchildren, extended family, and many dear friends.
Bruce’s family will greet loved ones at a viewing on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Russon Mortuary, 1941 North Main Street Farmington, Utah.
