Rob unexpectedly passed away in his home in Centerville, Utah, after returning from dinner and ice cream with his wife and family friends.
Rob was born in Salt Lake City to Coy Brady Schofield and Elizabeth Erna Prahl Schofield. He was the third of seven children in his family. After graduating from East High School in 1964, he attended the University of Utah, where he became an avid Utah sports fan and Crimson Club member, always rooting for the Utes.
He served in the Utah Army National Guard from 1966 to 1971 as a medic. He was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
Rob worked as an independent sales representative, selling plumbing products throughout the intermountain west, and odds are you have been in a public building containing drinking fountains, toilets, or sinks that he sold.
While Rob enjoyed sports, both as a participant and spectator, his passion was golf. He was a scratch golfer and the Oakridge Country Club Champion in 1985.
In 1998, Rob suffered a major stroke, which put an end to his scratch golf game and made physical activities much more difficult, which also led to his deteriorating health over the years. Notwithstanding, he insisted on being as self-reliant as possible and maintained a good attitude, enjoying life to the end.
In addition to being a diehard sports fan, Rob loved watching a good movie or television series. He was a kind-hearted person with a unique sense of sarcastic humor that was enjoyed by those who knew and loved him.
After retiring, Rob and his wife, Denise, spent their winters in Mesquite, Nevada, and returned to Davis County during the summer months.
In addition to his friends in Nevada and Utah, Rob leaves behind his wife of 43 years, Denise Olsen Schofield, and their children, Jason Blair Schofield (Nicole) and Alison Schofield Tate (Tyler). Rob had three other children from a prior marriage, Jon Schofield (Leslie), Shelly Schofield Smith (Nate), and Chris Schofield (Sarah). Rob had 21 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Nancy, but survived by his siblings, Ron Schofield (Betty), Kathy Weber, Dean Schofield (Susan), Cheryl Nak (Larry), and Dennis Schofield (Jeanne).
