On January 18, 2004, Robert Bob Jessie McClain, age 90, left this earth to be in the loving hands of his Father in Heaven. Robert was born in West Lafeyette, Ohio, the son of Florence Hanks and Charles McClain. He joined the Army Air Corp. and was stationed at Fort Douglas, Utah. He met his dear wife, Fredona Donna Doyle at a USO dance at the YWCA. They were married on December 30, 1941. Later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Bob served in the European Theater of World War II. He retired as a Lt. Col. in the Air Force. Robert and Donna lived in Woods Cross, then Centerville, Campbell, California and retired back in Centerville, Utah. Robert could do anything, but spent the major part of his working career in defense work. Bob was a faithful member of the LDS Church, serving a stake mission in Saratoga, California. Bob leaves behind his wife of 62 years; three daughters, Kathleen, Robyn and Claudia Tom Dryg; three grandchildren, Cameron Tara, Clayton, and Christine Jonathan McCollum; and three great-grandchildren; and brother Charles McClain. Preceded in death by brother, Richard. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 23, 2004 at the Canyon Ward Chapel, 160 South 300 East, Centerville, Utah. Friends may call Thursday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 North Main, and Friday morning from 9:45 – 10:45 a.m. at the church prior to services.
