Robert M Eggett

June 27, 2952 — January 10, 2021

Our beloved brother, father, and grandfather Robert Michael Eggett was blessed to finally receive his long-awaited rest and passed away while living in the Rocky Mountain Care nursing home facility on January 10, 2021.  While there Robert had the unfortunate experience of contracting the Covid-19 virus and suffered the quick acting effects of the virus’ stress on his body and lungs.  After an eleven-day battle with the virus, Robert’s body could no longer battle the effects of this virus and he moved on from this life into the extended arms of loved ones beyond the veil who had passed before him.  With his graduation from this life, Robert is now able to have a grand reunion with the many family members who are ready for him to join them beyond the veil; these family members include: his Father (Frank Delwin), his mother (Edna), his sister (Kathleen), his son (Robert Carlyle), and his grandson (Noehren).  Robert has been blessed to be loved by family on both sides of the veil and although those on this side of the veil may miss him, his loved ones on the other side of the veil are excited to be with him now that he is freed from the mortal challenges of a body and mind that presented many complications for Robert throughout his life.

Robert was born on June 27, 1952 at the St. Mark’s Hospital in Salt Lake City and was proud to grow up in the city of West Bountiful throughout his younger years of life.  Robert entered this world with some physical and mental challenges that made life a little more difficult for Robert.  However, Robert thrived as he grew and lived his life despite these challenges.  Robert’s parents, Frank Delwin Eggett and Edna June Newson, loved Robert very much and did all they could to take care of him and teach him alongside his 7 siblings (Shirleen, Marleen, Frank, Kristeen-“Tiz”, Thomas, Madaleen-“Maddie”, and Kathleen).  There were many difficult challenges in Robert’s life with the passing of his father during his youth and the many other hardships he suffered throughout his adult life.  Robert fought through these challenges in the best way he knew how by maintaining his trust in God and his faith as a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  His membership and devoted participation in his church gave Robert the strength and willpower to battle these significant challenges with the aid and assistance of his Heavenly Father and the Savior.

Robert had a love for the outdoors, the land given to him by our Heavenly Father, and the nature (both plants and animals) that lived on this land.  Robert loved taking care of animals and he loved growing plants wherever and whenever he had the chance to do so.  Robert loved to share these experiences and many adventures with his two sons that he loved very much, Robert Carlyle (Ingrid), who has passed, and Michael Abraham, 41 (Britney). Robert’s sons were his pride and joy and they further provided Robert with an extension of love and pride for Robert’s 10 grandchildren who Robert cared deeply for during his life.  Robert’s life was rich because he loved his children and grandchildren so much and also loved the gospel of Jesus Christ.  Robert will be missed, but is now able to explore new adventures and opportunities in the next stages of his existence beyond this mortal life.

We look forward to celebrating Robert’s life during family only funeral services (due to Covid-19 virus impacts) to be held at the Syracuse Russon Mortuary & Crematory on Friday, January 15, 2021 at 11am.  The general public may view the funeral services streamed live through the Russon Mortuary & Crematory Facebook page at that same time.  There will also be held a small family only viewing service before the funeral services at 9:45am.  Graveside services and interment will follow thereafter at 1pm at the Bountiful City Cemetery, 2224 South 200 West, Bountiful, Utah 84010; all interested members of the public are welcome to attend these graveside services.  Online guestbook is available at www.russonmortuary.com.
