Richard "Rick" Blake Dalton

Richard (Rick) Blake Dalton, 61, passed away on October 15, 2022, after his battle with Liposarcoma and Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML), ultimately losing to AML. He was born on December 3, 1960, in Ogden, UT to Iris Nance Dalton and Jack J. Dalton. Rick moved around several times during his childhood starting in Ogden, UT, Provo, UT, Albuquerque, NM and lastly to Bountiful, UT. After graduating from Bountiful High school in 1979 he married Suzie Philabaum, and their first daughter, Abigail (Abbie) was born. Rick and Suzie later divorced.

In September 1986 he met Laurie Freeman whom he later married on February 14, 1987, and gained a son he later adopted, Ryan. Several years after their marriage they welcomed another daughter, Jessica. The family lived in Woods Cross for 4 years then moved to Centerville, UT where he lived until his passing.

Rick worked for Mountain Bell (later becoming US West, Qwest, then CenturyLink) for 35 years where he met some of his greatest friends and made some of his favorite memories.

Rick loved spending his time supporting BYU football (go Cougs!), shooting, golfing, and spending time with his friends, especially Wednesday morning coffee. His ultimate love was spending time with his family. He loved to go camping, traveling, hunting, boating, and taking his grandkids on new adventures. His grandkids were his world.

He always had a smile on his face and loved meeting new people. He was a friend to all and always wanted to help his friends in need. Rick was an amazing father, grandpa, brother, and loving husband. He is preceded in death by his mother and father and leaves behind his wife; Laurie, children; Ryan (Heather) Dalton, Abbie Dalton (Michael Lawrence), and Jessica (Jason) Anderson, grandchildren; Mccoy, Mason, Eleanor, Jackson, and Sophie and sisters; Pam (Ben) Tanner and Nancy (Dave) Evans. 

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 22, 2022, at Russon Mortuary, 295 N. Main St., Bountiful, Utah where a viewing will be held Friday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. and Saturday afternoon from 12:30 - 1:45 p.m. prior to the funeral. Interment - Lakeview Cemetery, 1640 Lakeview Dr, Bountiful, Utah.
