Richard Taylor Ryan

Our beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great-Grandfather, Brother, Uncle, and friend, Richard Taylor Ryan left this world on October 24, 2023, at the age of 76 surrounded by his loving family.

Richard was born on October 2, 1947, in Logan, Utah to Jack Hansen Ryan and Joyce Taylor Ryan. While growing up he found a love for horse riding, camping, fishing, westerns, rebuilding engines, racing hot rods, dancing, music, and the Ryan work ethic.

Richard graduated from Logan High, and lettered in swimming, he also enjoyed the riding club and polo.

Richard married Nancy Ann Carpenter, they were sealed for time and all eternity in the Logan Utah Temple on October 20, 1967. They lived and raised their family in Centerville, UT. Richard and Nancy just celebrated their 56th anniversary.

Richard was a faithful and dedicated member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Richard and Nancy served a four-year Prison Ministry Mission. He served in various positions in the church.  Some of his favorites are serving in the elder’s quorum, stake young men’s, scouting, and trek.  

Richard leaves behind a legacy of love, hard work, and dedication. He enjoyed his work with Davy Tree and loved being an Electrician. He loved and was proud of his Children, Grandchildren, and Great Grandchild.  His legacy will live on through the generations he has touched.

He is survived by his wife Nancy, four children, Rodney (Rachelle), Julianne (Brian), Chad (Megan), and Wendy (Luke) 17 Grandchildren, 1 Great-Grandchild, 8 Siblings and Loving Mother Jean Roper. He was preceded in death by his Father (Jack), Mother (Joyce) and a Granddaughter (Carmen). We take solace in knowing that his spirit lives on through the values and the love he shared, and the faith he held dear.

A viewing will be held on Thursday, October 26, 2023, from 6:00–8:00 p.m. at Russon Mortuary, 295 North Main St., Bountiful, Utah 84010. The funeral service will be held at the Centerville 19th Ward Chapel, 900 South 400 East, Centerville, Utah 84014 on Friday, October 27, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. there will be a viewing from 9:30-10:15 a.m. prior to services. Interment- 3:00 p.m. at the Hyrum City Cemetery.
