Reva Elmer Smith Bain

Reva Elmer Smith Bain passed away on May 25, 2025 at the age of 91.

Reva Elmer was born in Park City, Utah on April 2, 1934, to father Theodore Elmer and mother Ann Marie Kershaw Elmer. The third of six children, she grew up in Park City, Summit County; Enterprise, Morgan County, Utah; and Jerome, Idaho; and attended Jerome High School.

She married Richard Byron Smith and lived in Santa Ana, California where they raised a family of four children, later marrying Ralph B. Bain in Davis County, Utah. A lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints with a deep love of the Savior Jesus Christ. Those fortunate enough to have known Reva knew that she loved gardening, genealogy and attending the temple regularly with friends. She also worked many years at Hill Air Force Base, mostly in the Motor Pool, where she said she never had a “bad day,” finally ending her career there in an office job at age 72.

A long-time resident in North Ogden, Reva spent most of her last years in the company of her twin sister Rada Morton whom she called her little sister (by 5 minutes) and shared a late special relationship.

Reva is survived by her four children Reva Petersen, Boyd Smith (Sharlene), Steven Smith (Tara), and Stacey Tate (Douglas); older brother George H. Elmer and sister-in-law Laura Elmer; 12 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Her loss will be felt by many more extended family members and friends in the North Ogden 2nd Ward.

She is preceded in death by her father and mother, husbands, twin sister Rada Elmer Morton, brothers Theodore Kershaw Elmer, Delos Ira Elmer and Willis Dearden Elmer (child), and granddaughter Michele Smith.

Graveside Services will be held Saturday May 31, 2025 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Porterville Cemetery, Morgan County, followed by interment.
