Reta Ann Roberts

November 5, 1947 — November 2, 2025

Bountiful, UT

Reta Ann Roberts passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 2, 2025, in her home. She leaves a legacy of friendship and love with all who knew her. She loved her Savior and knew he loved her.

She was born on November 7, 1947, to Reat Worth Roberts and Marcia Thomas in Salt Lake City, where she lived for 8 years. When she was 8, she was baptized in the Tabernacle because it was in the boundaries of the stake.

The family moved to Bountiful in 1956 and she lived there while attending Boulton Elementary and South Davis Jr High. After graduating from Bountiful High, she moved to California where she worked in a bank for several years until she moved back home to attend Weber College to receive her teaching degree. She then moved to Price where she taught elementary school in Helper for 1 year. Reta then spent the rest of her career teaching third and fourth grade in Sandy and South Jordan. She loved teaching and interacting with fellow teachers and students. She would spend many years afterward substituting in many of the schools in Davis County.

After retiring she was involved with the Daughters of Utah Pioneers. She was active in her camp and also helped with all Utah camps. She also volunteered at the DUP museum in Salt Lake City and was a docent for many years. She especially enjoyed the school children who would come for the tours. She also loved hearing from adults who came from all over the world.

On April 26, 2021, she was called to serve a mission in the Church History Library Services. She made many friends in the 3 years she was there. On April 21, 2024, she was released from her mission.

She had a great love for family. When her father was on hospice, she sold her condo and moved back home to take care of both her father and mother. This time with her parents lasted for 5 years and she has lived in the home since then. She let nieces who needed a place to stay live with her when they needed a space. She attended events for many of her siblings, nieces and nephews. She especially loved kissing their chubby cheeks. She would say, “I just want to eat their cheeks.”

Another love was for her dogs. She has had 6 dogs over the years starting with Meggie and ending with Fluffy and Izzy. They were her everyday companions and loved her back.

She loved camping with family and bought her own trailer. Zion around Easter was a family tradition for many years as well as Yellowstone in September. She even went kayaking down the Snake River below the Jackson Dam just a few years ago.

She will be missed by her siblings Kevin (Jan) Roberts, Randy (Lori), and Claudia VanDenHazel.

Preceded in death by her parents, her brother Mark and nephew Rett.

The family would like to thank her neighbors and ward family for loving Reta and being awesome friends to her. We know you have helped her throughout the years and been in her life.

Reta wanted to have only a graveside service which will be held on Friday, November 7, 2015, at 2:00 p.m. at the Bountiful City Cemetery.
