Raymond Marvin Martin

May 1, 1950 — March 24, 2026

Raymond Marvin Martin, our dad, granddad, and friend, passed away on March 24, 2026, in Ogden, Utah. He was born on May 1, 1950, in Portland, Oregon.

Ray loved the outdoors and the people around him. He enjoyed camping, hunting, and fishing, and many of his happiest moments were spent at a campsite or by a lake with family and friends. Being outdoors gave him peace, but what made those moments special was sharing them with the people he loved.

Dad loved old classic cars—driving them, restoring them, and bringing them back to life. Summer car shows were always a highlight, and he was always eager to share his passion with family and friends. He also loved grilling for his family, taking pride in cooking steak and chicken wings on his Weber charcoal grill.

Ray was kind, caring, and mindful of others. Even in his final days, he continued to think of others and was concerned about their needs. He loved his family deeply and would light up whenever his grandchildren or great-grandchildren came to visit. Those moments brought him happiness and meant the world to him.

Ray is survived by his sister, Barbara Miller (Dave); his son, Cory (Cassie); his daughter, Cheryl; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents Juanita Merle Mcleod and Lester Marvin Martin.

Our family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to the caregivers who supported Dad over the last year. We are deeply grateful to Atlas Homecare and Hospice, especially Ronal, Dad’s nurse, who went above and beyond in caring for him. We would also like to share our love and appreciation for Kelsy, who stood by Dad’s side this past year and cared for him with compassion and dedication.

A celebration of life will be held this summer for family and close friends.
