Peggy Palmer Newbold

May 23, 1928 — Jul 8, 2026

Kaysville, Utah

Peggy Palmer, 98, passed away peacefully on July 8, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of memories, resilience, laughter, and love.

Peggy was born in Thatcher, Arizona, to Levi Lester Palmer and Etta Jane Kempton Palmer. She was raised in Thatcher, where she graduated from Thatcher High school.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Bud, Ace, Richard, and Aaron; her sisters, Nell, Sy and Rose; and Gerald, her former husband and cherished lifelong friend. Although their marriage ended, their friendship endured, and Gerald remained someone Peggy spoke of often and remembered with great affection until the day she passed.

Peggy lived life with spirit and determination. She was an exceptional seamstress who lovingly made clothes for her children when they were young, a wonderful cook whose kitchen welcomed family and friends, and a gifted writer who expressed her heart through poetry. She treasured every card, photograph, and keepsake from those she loved, carefully preserving memories that meant so much to her.

She found happiness in the simple joys of life. Peggy loved spending time fishing, shopping and most of all dancing whenever she had the chance. She had an eye for fashion, always enjoyed looking her best, and never passed up a beautiful pair of shoes. Her style reflected her vibrant personality and confidence.

Those who knew Peggy will remember her quick wit, sharp mind, and unmistakable sense of humor. She had a playful, sometimes dark, wit that could catch you off guard and leave you laughing. She was fiercely independent, strong-willed, and never afraid to stand her ground. Yet beneath that strength was a deeply compassionate woman who quietly cared for others.

Peggy faithfully submitted names to the temple and offered heartfelt prayers for family, friends, and anyone she felt needed comfort.

Peggy’s greatest legacy is her family whom she leaves behind. She is survived by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great great-grandchildren, and many friends whose lives were touched by her love, generosity, and strength.

In accordance with Peggy’s wishes, she will be cremated and no funeral or memorial service will be held.
