Paula Shiner Falvo

August 9, 1945 — April 24, 2024

Kaysville, UT

Paula Shiner Falvo passed away at the age of 78 on April 24, 2024, after suffering from idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. She was born on August 9, 1945 in Price, Utah, to Orlo LaVell and Nina Grange Shiner.

“Always pretty Paula” liked to look her loveliest and to take good care of herself. It was the highlight of her day to take her beloved poodle, Barron, on long walks. She enjoyed being out in the sunshine and meeting friends for a weekly bridge game which she did just two days before her passing.

She enjoyed playing tennis and golf, later enjoying watching golf tournaments with her brother, Gary. She was always happy when the family could get together and play Greek Rummy or Canasta. Dancing was a passion of hers. She even danced when she cooked dinner.

She attended Carbon High School in Price, Utah, where she was a cheerleader. She met her first husband, Jim Bills, at LDS Business College in Salt Lake City. They married in 1964 and made their home in Salmon, Idaho, where she opened her own dance studio. She later married Pete Falvo, the love of her life, in 1978, living in Utah, Hawaii and Arizona. She married Ken Sloniger in 1993. Most of her life she was a realtor but in recent years she completed training in interior design.

Paula liked to enjoy the moment without wasting energy fretting about the future which she did to the very end of her life. We’ll miss the joy she had for life and the bright light she brought into any room.

She is survived by her siblings: Gary Shiner, Kaysville; Gaye Shiner Davis (Bill), Layton; Anita Shiner Tromp (John), West Jordan; and Sandy Shiner Quist, Sandy, Utah. She was preceded in death by her parents and by her sister, Terrie Shiner Heichelbech.

There will a Celebration of Life for her in May. She will be buried at the Bountiful City Cemetery.
