With heavy hearts our family is saying goodbye to the man who taught us family always comes first, honesty should guide everything we do, work hard, laugh harder, help others selflessly, and always make sure the job is done right.
Paul was born on June 13, 1960 to Victor Henry Adams and Afton Wood Adams and is the self-proclaimed "Golden Child" of seven children. Growing up he spent many years working with his grandfather to break, train and show horses -- jumping and Western Pleasure. His passion for horses has never diminished. He loved working with dogs and after his faithful dog Britney died, he never got another dog. Paul grew up learning to hunt and fish alongside his father. He loves the outdoors, was an excellent water skier and enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping with friends and family throughout his life, including a weeklong fishing trip in Alaska with his father-in-law. Paul also loved going to Utah Jazz games, talking basketball to anyone who would listen, shooting hoops, working out at the gym and a bowl of ice cream every night.
Paul graduated from Bountiful High School in 1979 and began his work in construction pouring and finishing cement for a few years then eventually transitioned to carpentry with Stouts Construction and Broderick Construction. With his skills and work ethic he started Paul Adams Construction (PAC) as a General Contractor in 1990. Paul always expected perfection in the work he did for others and earned the respect and admiration of his co-workers, colleagues, and clients. His work was nothing short of amazing.
Paul married Paige Parkin in 1986. They first met in 9th grade, both graduated from Bountiful High the same year, but didn't start dating until after high school. After six years of dating, they got married on Mar 6, 1986, then sealed in the Salt Lake Temple in 1989. Paul and Paige have four children: Travis Paul, Gregory Darrell (Calli Rae), Kendall Paige (Joseph Michael) Mecham and Micaela Reese. He also has one grandson Ace Reese Adams, with a second grandson due in August and a granddaughter due in October. Our family has built lasting memories during trips across Utah, California, Washington, Idaho, Colorado, Hawaii, Florida, New York, Canada, Mexico, a cruise, camping in the Uinta Mountains and all over Utah, fishing and floating the Green River at Flaming Gorge, jet skiing at Bear Lake, and annual horseback riding trips in Logan Canyon. Spending time with family was always important to him.
Paul is survived by his wife, children, grandson and siblings: Victor Michael (Carolanne), Eddie (Rise), Patricia Cozzens, Glen, Bona (Randy) Rowsell, Claudia (Bob) Taylor, sister-in-law, Pam (Russell) Seifter and brother-in-law, Andrew Parkin. Proceeded in death by his parents Victor & Afton Adams, in-laws Darrell & Merilyn Parkin, and brother-in-law Gregory Darrell Parkin.
