Patsy Kay Dalley Mansell was born on September 3, 1944, the fourth of five children. She spent much of her time outdoors and loved playing dolls with her siblings under the big tree in the yard.
Patsy loved reading and often recalled how much she adored the library.
Graduating from Worland High School in 1962, Patsy continued her studies at Brigham Young University. During a summer break, she met Larry Mansell, and they quickly became engaged. The two were married on December 11, 1965, in the Oakland LDS temple. After Larry finished his studies, they settled in California and raised their five children. While in California she made many lifelong friends including Barbara Spencer, Linda Brannon and her four daughters, and Megan and Jonathon Burton.
Upon Larry's retirement, they moved to Utah to be near their children and grandchildren.
This was a happy period in Patsy's life. She hosted crafting afternoons for her grandchildren where they painted rocks, made soap, fashioned bubble wands, and glued glitter on to all sorts of things. The favorite events were the summer tie dye parties and the winter chocolate parties.
Patsy loved sewing. She made clothes for her children and grandchildren, and her grandkids always looked forward to their Christmas pajama pants. As much as Patsy enjoyed sewing clothing, she loved quilting. She created quilts not only for her children and grandchildren, but for friends and friends of friends. Every occasion called for a quilt - births, graduations, and weddings, just to name a few. She also donated many many quilts and other handmade items to various charities and especially loved donating to Primary Children's Hospital.
Patsy was a devout member of the LDS Church and loved its teachings about serving others and caring for those in need. She had a strong testimony of Jesus Christ and His example of unconditional love.
Surrounded by her loved ones, Patsy passed away on May 28, 2025, in her home. She will be missed by all those who knew her.
