1944 Patty 2023

Patricia Kathleen Lowe Stott

November 16, 1944 — November 9, 2023

Layton, Utah

Patty passed away Thursday, November 9th, 2023, from the effects of late-stage dementia. Throughout the last hours of her life, she was visited and surrounded by all her family members who could be there. Her room was crammed past capacity and filled with loud chatter, laughter, and stories, which is what Mom always loved. The louder, the better. It was her heaven on earth.

Patty was born in Brigham City, Utah, to William Morris and Maude Crompton Lowe. She was the fourth of five children: Linda (Don), Bill (Sherry), De-An (Steve), Patty (Chad), and Barbara (Gib). She spent most of her younger years in Bountiful, where she graduated from Bountiful High School. Patty was the school artist, a ZCMI Youngtimer (fashion model for the ZCMI store), and a Utah Symphony Sub Deb. She always loved classical music, which she often played at home. Patty loved people and had many close friends with whom she kept in touch all her life.

Patty married A. Chad Stott on December 26, 1963, and they were later sealed in the Salt Lake City Temple. Together, they raised four children: Reni (Jill), Tricia, Jeremy (Lora), and Danny (Heidi). She and Chad were proud of their 12 grandchildren (Allison, Ethan, Dustin, Amber, Gini, Rachel, Asher, Jacob, Jackson, Ryder, Landon, and Sophia) and three great-grandchildren: Stone, Analyssa, and Kyanna. Mom would have sleepovers for the grandkids, where she would make special treats and have craft activities for them to do together.

Patty often worked to supplement the family’s income using her artistic talents: wedding decorating, flower arrangements (both fresh and dried), serving school lunch, etc. Patty earned a degree in interior design from Weber State University, which she used in her drapery business – Draperies by Patricia. For Patty, no window was too difficult to cover nor lace too fancy to sew. Patty would see the vision and create exactly what the customer wanted.

Patty was always kind and loving to everyone, sacrificing her time and talents to help those around her. She saw beauty in everything in this world and the people she met. No blue sky was just a blue sky, the same as yesterday. To Patty, each blue sky was a beautiful and unique blue sky.

Patty was preceded in death by her husband Chad, parents Bill and Maude Lowe, sister De-An Lowe, daughter Tricia, and grandson Ethan Harrison.
