Neva Jean Price Oswald

June 18, 1930 — January 1, 2021

Neva Jean Price Oswald, daughter of Wilford James and Ivie Josephine Judy Price, passed away January 1, 2021, at Cedar Hills, Utah. She was born June 18, 1930, in Sugar City, Idaho. She attended elementary school in Salem and Sugar City. She graduated from seminary and Sugar-Salem High School. Neva won the first Sixth District Journalism Scholarship to Rick’s College after the close of World War II. While attending Ricks College, she worked as a news reporter for the local papers. She also met, Lowell D. Oswald, a Western States returned missionary whom she married, June 22, 1949, in the Idaho Falls Temple.
Neva loved to write and became involved in researching history for the Rexburg Stake Primary. She researched for several wards also during her life of Church activity. She taught Primary, Relief Society and Young Women. She was proud of being a “Golden Gleaner”. Neva and Lowell spent many years doing family history and temple work. They filled a Temple Square mission together. Lowell passed away March 27, 2011.
Neva enjoyed sewing, crocheting, oil painting, scrapbooking and visiting with her grandchildren. Over the years she has illustrated several educational programs that her husband, Lowell, had written and published.
She is survived by eleven children: Carol D. Oswald, Centerville, Utah; Roseanne (Brian) Partridge, Cibolo, Texas; Lola J. (Jeff) Galloway, The Woodlands, Texas; Lowell K. (Laurie) Oswald, Bountiful, Utah; Mark R. (Bev) Oswald, Cedar Hills, Utah; Joan M. (Mitch) Gunnell, Shakopee, Minnesota; Pamela Dee (Mike) Conrad, Tucson, Arizona; Paul D. Oswald, Bountiful, Utah; Douglas J. (Angie) Oswald, Layton, Utah; Bryce W. Oswald, Clearfield, Utah; Judy Oswald Corbridge, Centerville, Utah. She has 38 grandchildren and 41 great-grandchildren who love her. Her husband, parents, four sisters and five brothers preceded her in death.
