Natasha Leah McCabe, 57, of North Salt Lake, Utah, passed away unexpectedly on April 5, 2026, in Naples, Florida, while assisting her mother on hospice.
Natasha was born on July 17,1968, in Pensacola, Florida, to Betty Fries and John R. Schweitzer.
Natasha attended Louisiana Tech University and graduated in 1997. She attended Weber State University from 2004-2007, where she studied accounting.
Natasha most recently worked as an accountant at Utah Metal Works, which she found a great place to work.
Natasha served in the Utah National Guard for 22 years. When she retired from military service in 2025, she held the rank of Sergeant First Class. She was a proud veteran and often supported other veterans in recovery and suicide prevention.
Natasha was an avid lover of horses, books, live music, and traveling. She enjoyed skiing, photography, and sailing. She spent many weekends jamming out to music and spending time with friends and family. She believed in and loved Jesus Christ. She loved her friends and family dearly. Nothing was more important to her than her son, Anthony.
Known for her loving nature, stubbornness, and undeniable loyalty, Natasha could often be found hiking in the hills east of Bountiful, having coffee with her mother, Deon, or watching movies and cooking with her son. She considered it her duty to share her musical taste with others, and her siblings will always share a deep love of 80s pop and rock music because of Natasha.
Natasha was preceded in death by her mother, Betty Fries. She is survived by her son Anthony Johnston, her parents Deon Gines and John R. Schweitzer, and her siblings John G. Schweitzer, Donner Schweitzer, and Wynne Schweitzer.
Services will be announced at a later time.
In lieu of flowers, consider a donation to the Wounded Warrior Project or the Gary Sinise Foundation in Natasha’s memory.
