Nancy Jean Fisher

November 27, 1947 — November 15, 2025

Nancy Jean (Mims) Fisher passed away on November 15, 2025, at her home in West Point surrounded by her family.

Nancy was born on November 27, 1947, in Biloxi, Mississippi, to Alred Fredick Mims II and Frankie Helen. She was the oldest of seven children. They lived in several places during her childhood, including during her high school years when she lived in California where she was played drums in the marching band. Nancy was living in Indiana when she converted to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. In about 1968 Nancy moved to Utah where she met Brent Fisher, they began dating and we married on August 29, 1969, and they had six children.

Nancy began working at the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) in the 1980s, while working there she was a shop steward, and went on to become the Chapter President of the NTEU chapter 67. She retired from the IRS and spent time with her grandchildren. Some of the best birthday parties for the grandkids were held at her place, with parties such Indiana Jones, playing army, fairy princess parties and more. Nancy loved her kids and grandkids.

Trips to Disneyland were always a fun adventure with her, riding Small World, Peter Pan and Dumbo when the kids were little. She made sure Christmas Eve was a family tradition that carried on from her kid’s childhood to when they became adults and had families of their own. She loved her children and was there offering support throughout their lives.

Nancy is survived by her husband Brent and her children Shaun (Valerie) Fisher, Chris Fisher, Amy (Paul-deceased) Ellis, Brian Fisher, Erin (Ryan) Clark, and Jon Fisher. Her grandchildren Steve (Kirsten) Fisher, Kaylie Fisher, Sarah Fisher, Danza Ellis, Gillian Ellis, David (Brittnay Clark), Elisa Clark, Kyle Fisher, Joshua Clark, Tobias Ellis, and Ellyana Fisher, and her great-grandchildren Jayden, Carter, Emma, Ryker, Elliot, and Calliope. Along with her bonus grandkids Jensen’s and Gregory’s. She is preceded in her death by her father Alfred, her mother Frankie, her sisters Betty and Alice.

She was cremated on November 21, 2025, at the Russon Mortuary in Syracuse, Utah. She was loved by her family and will be greatly missed. The family would like to thank the staff at Inspiration Hospice for the care of Nancy and Russon’s for their care and compassion.
